Bidra med feedbackMe and my son popped in for drinks on Saturday 3rd October, we was greeted by the friendly barman who helped us scan the NHS mobile app. He then took our drinks order and within minutes returned with our drinks. After around 10 minutes, the barman returned and apologised as my son had coke and said there was a offer on and he had overcharged him and gave my son his change, which we felt was quite honest of him.
I don 't mind paying for good quality so when the miserable barmaid charged me £5 for a pint of peroni I accepted the kick in the teeth, but when I started to look around me I realised I was just in a basic pub, with some basic grub, wobbly dirty tables, smelly dirty toilets, an old bandit rammed in the corner, just seem to be playing the we 're an old building card to charge people the earth for basic ****, my grans got an old shed in the garden, I 'm Gona get myself a barrel of peroni!
Absolutely awful! The land lords are incredibly rude, mainly the man, and especially to young people. I witnessed them openly argue with a customer when they pointed out their food wasn't cooked. The toilets are dirty also. The only nice part about this pub was the alcohol, which I can get anywhere. If you are looking to stay in Royal Wootton Basset.. go elsewhere, don't waste your money.
Have known this place for many years having visited the pub periodically over that time. In recent years it has been noticeably slipping down hill with variable service, some staff shockingly bad, some good. Every time Ive been in there is a different face behind the bar,in the kitchen.. Food quality is variable, sometimes there isnt even a menu available and at the best of times its a very limited poorly displayed menu. I fear this place has reached the point of no return, and with a newish very good pub not far away unless things improve radically the writing is on the wall..
Always very friendly this is a favourite spot for me and my husband to have lunch. The food is tasty and great value
