Bidra med feedbackGreat food and service. A nicer option in a sea of diners and family restaurant
My fiancé and I were looking for places eat near Winterthur over the weekend and she found this place less than 1.5 miles from there. We have driven by this place countless times and never decided to stop until now, and I am disappointed we didn’t until now. We were able to get a seat quickly without reservation despite being two days from Christmas, so we were lucky. We staff were very friendly as well, which is great to see. The server recommended the Brussel sprouts and we also got the onion rings and I tell you, they were both fantastic. The sauce with the Brussel sprouts was delicious and the garlic aioli with the onion rings was a great sauce to pair with them and more places should do that. The French dip sandwich was probably the best French dip sandwich I’ve ever had from a restaurant. I think the only way I could have it better is to make it myself. The horseradish sauce on the bread took it to another level. The meat was tender and the au jus was okay. The au jus was not quite as good as I hoped it would be, it was a bit salty and was not as flavorful as I hoped, but it still was good. I still dipped my sandwich in for each bite and I enjoyed it regardless. The Creme brûlée was good and satisfied my sweet tooth after dinner. I would recommend that for dessert as it doesn’t fill you up too much and has great flavor. Price-wise it is a bit more expensive than I expected, so be sure you are willing to drop a decent amount of money off each person. Including dessert and two appetizers, it was $139 for 4 people, averaging 34.75 per person. I will recommend this to anyone looking for a place to eat after visiting Longwood Gardens and/or Winterthur.
Gray was fantastic when all the odds were against them! But between the POS system crashing, the pen that stopped working, juggling dishes and helping their tables...they were so attentive, funny and provided great service; they killed it! The lighting and noise was neuro divergent friendly/warm and inviting, the food delicious, the staff so beyond kind (with not even a blink to our service dog) just an overall wonderful experience at Buckleys Tavern! Thank you!
Tommy the bartender was too focused on impressing his parents and a group of friends. Showing off, if you asked me. He never even gave eye contact while we sat, sat and waited for service. However, Paul was busy and finally after 20 mins he’s looked our way and waited on us. The service was awful; however, I give a placed a break due to limited staff. To see Tommy just chat, chat and show off did it for me. He shoujd never assume the rest of his audience are not as important. Shame on him! The kitchen staff were hustling on all levels. Great food from then. Again, this is constructive feedback to help address the issue..
I upgraded it to 4 stars. I went back with a group of friends and this time I had a different meal. I had the French Dip and it was very good.
