Was charged £30 per person when it clearly states that there was a 10% discount so should have been £27 and the afternoon tea really didn’t look like the pictures online ????

Food average not much choice for big venue, only 3 deserts, service was slow snails pace, was quite looking forward to this night, but wont be rushing back, the only good thing was scenery around, disapointing.

The food was average, nicely cooked but nothing remarkable. The service was good. However, the presence of flies in the restaurant was unbearable. There were dead flies scattered everywhere and many flying around trying to escape through the windows. A fly zapper is definitely needed as it was disturbing while trying to enjoy a meal. The wine was overpriced for a mediocre bottle at £26. While £26 is not a high price for a nice bottle of wine, this bottle was cheap and left me feeling like I had been ripped off. It was not good value for money.

It has taken me almost 24hrs to calm myself before I contact you. Yesterday I went to Kilhey court hotel for afternoon tea with a dear friend who has just completed months of chemotherapy , it was her first visit to anywhere. When booking the AT seeing the price of £45 I wrongly assumed this was for 'for 2 ' as are all AT 's I 've been to before . The champagne was flat , as it was the remaining, the waitress almost was draining the last remaining bits into our glasses. The AT was very poor , the sandwich filling was minimal , the bread slightly stale , the quantity was abismal..possibly 3 slices of bread at the most. The cakes were bite size, and again not good quality , the scones were dry /stale , no clotted cream .I 've eaten better quality cakes from a budget priced shop . I had every intention of contacting the company to express my disappointment , as it was not appropriate at the time due to my friend being present. When I went to pay and was charged £90 for the AT I 'm not sure how I contained my suprise, and shock. I did not wish to bring up any of the mentioned issues in front of my friend as it would of caused her stress. Once we said our goodbyes , I immediately contacted the hotel to ask if there had been some mistake, my shock at the pricing of the AT turned to anger when I was informed that the charge was correct. Most afternoon teas state for two or per person , you do not state per person on your web site , It 's an outrage to even contemplate how you have the ordasity to charge such inflated prices for such a poor low quality afternoon. I 've had a quality course meal for that cost. My anger turned to actually being upset that my friend had such a poor quality experience .

The restaurant has beautiful surroundings, attentive staff, excellent service, and the food was delicious. Although the lunch menu choices were a bit disappointing, everything ended up being tasty. I would definitely return for another meal.
