Charlene's Bayside Cafe - Whycocomagh

Came here for breakfast at the recommendation of fair isle motel. I had the French toast and chowder. The chowder was meaty and delicious. French toast was good but nothing to write home about.

The restaurant is a charming little place and clean but the food is great and the seafood chowder was the best

We stopped by this restaurant on advice from our motel just down the street! It appears to be a family run restaurant with friendly faces and good home style cooking!!! When we arrived it was first noticed that the "You Gotta Eat Here" logo was on the door and the menu. For those that may not know, this logo is from a TV show that travels to areas off the beaten path to find where great local food. Well, the endorsement was 100% accurate!!! My husband ordered the fish and chips and scarfed them down so quickly I barley noticed he had any food on his plate! Crispy and delicious! I ordered a pasta dish that was overflowing with vegetables and the sauce...... well it is what dreams are made of! The only downfall was that the serving was so big I couldn't eat it all and I couldn't take it to go with me, since I was going to be on the road the next day! Great food, great atmosphere and friendly faces!!

Amazing ... many types of seafood represented including lots of lobster .. broth is delicious and not too heavy.. Roll was tasteless and service a little slow but the star is definitely the chowder!

Small but busy home-style restaurant. Delicious fish chowder. The home style meals are good and worth the value. Nice desserts and pies. The "Mud Puddle" was a chocolate challenge! If there is a line-up, wait. It is worth it.
