Bidra med feedbackTruly authentic Italian! A real winner for Thousand Oaks! We had HUGE blue prawns, eggplant parmigian, search ahi, and grilled branzino, Every dish was as described and awesome, but the branding was awesomest!
Excellent cooking, so I'm going back. The downside to great cooking is the place is popular. And when it's full house, you can't get the kind of service you'd expect with the price tag. Other than that, I love this place.Their pizzas are on par with what you'd get at a good NYC pizzeria. Try truffle pasta too. The first fork was out of this world. Subsequent visits, it started tasting a bit too rich, so I switched to pizzas.
The food here is nothing short of amazing. As good as any great restaurant in Florence. There is nothing bad on the menu. You will enjoy it all. The wine list is perfect and delicious. The staff is always attentive and food is fast considering how carefully it was prepared and presented. It can get busy for dinner so make a reservation. It it's always great for lunch as well and not too crowded.
The best pasta you will find outside of Italy! This place is a hidden gem, and I don't know why others are not raving more about it. The chef only uses the freshest ingredients and imports the rest from Italy, born from Italy, makes the breads and pastas in-house from scratch, everything I've had has been delicious. As noted on their websites and their menu, they can't make substitutions if it changes the integrity of the dish, ie adding their chicken to a pesto dish, but that's because they take pride in the flavor of the dish that you will be experiencing. Everything from presentation to taste is amazing. The restaurant is small and does not seem like you are going to have the best Italian food of your life, but don't let it fool you being in an McDonalds parking lot. Since the make everything in house they also make this savory calzone with Nutella and this other white drizzle sauce stuffed with strawberries and bananas that is worth the wait. Don't let the picture deceive you, I asked for a special tiny sized one, it's normally 3 times as big and you won't regret it, if you're not stuffed from dinner/ lunch.
Very friendly establishment that goes above and beyond in making their customers feel welcomed. They do not take reservations and there is almost always a wait. While waiting, they kindly offer water and little snacks, like slices of their margarita pizza, and you can order a drink too if you like. There is no seating while you wait though, and the unassuming little strip mall location isn 't very picturesque, but the hospitality they show makes up for it.The food... I was hoping to love it but just because it 's fresh pasta doesn 't automatically make it fabulous. We had the pasta with fish and the cacio e pepe. The cacio e pepe was a bit runny and didn 't have the sharp bite of the pecorino romano that it should have. The pasta with fish was fine as well just not super flavorful. I felt like maybe I should have tried a pizza as they are also known for that. We also had the shaved brussel sprout salad that I felt was rather bland as well. Nothing was bad, it just wasn 't wow I need to eat that again good. This was our first time trying Made in Italy, so going back and trying a couple of other things would be fair and worth it since they hit the mark on all the other points including attentive and helpful waitstaff !
