Casa Basso - Westhampton Beach

This restaurant deserves accolades for all around great atmosphere, service, cuisine and a friendly down home experience. The owners greet their customers as if they were arriving into their home. That sets the tone for the entire evening. If you are looking for a restaurant that gives you great food coupled with great service and very reasonable prices for the Westhampton area, don 't miss Casa Basso. It 's a winner on all levels.

Classic Italian restaurant, dim lighting and live music with tremendous proportions. The wine list is literally a binder! Long list of daily specials, there were FOUR fish entree specials and a 2lb Lobster special on our recent visit. Everything was cooked perfectly, the service was excellent and we were allowed to take as much time as we wanted to enjoy our evening. I have loved the swordfighting characters at the gate since I was a little boy. My only regret is not visiting this establishment more often. Nice atmosphere, went on a muggy day and sat outside, so very buggy. Staff is very friendly, portions were good. Overall, okay with the food, but service was awful. I've spent many of my younger day in the hospitality business, so I know what they are going through. Waited about 15 minutes after being seated to be greeted and served Water and bread. Actually had to flag someone down. Took quite a while for the meal to arrive, and the salads actually came the same time the main courses did!! The meal took a lot longer then it should have. We were patient even though we had plans afterwards. Not very efficient. I hope I just caught them on a bad day... :
