Yanaki Sushi - West Vancouver

I experienced stomach pain after eating sashimi at this restaurant, resulting in a two-day stay in the emergency room. I believe the sashimi may have been spoiled. Proceed with caution and I will not be returning to this restaurant.

After reading positive reviews, we decided to order takeout from this restaurant. Unfortunately, it turned out to be a mistake. We were hoping to satisfy a simple sushi craving, but were disappointed with our meal. The rolls had too much filler, especially the spicy chopped scallop which lacked scallop and was filled with cucumber and tiny avocado. The Spider roll was mostly imitation crab meat with little soft shelled crab. The Tako nigiri was small and chewy, not worth the price. The spicy tuna roll was average, while the sashimi was the only decent item. The wasabi was surprisingly sweet instead of spicy. Overall, this was a disappointing experience and we will not be returning or recommending this restaurant.

This restaurant is a hidden treasure. I always order the lunch bento box and the food is of excellent quality for the price. It is very affordable compared to other places for lunch. The staff is always very pleasant as well.

I used to live in Japan so I have quite high standards for Japanese food. Not a typical sushi person, but this restaurant is the only sushi place I come regularly. Not only because this is the close to where I live, but more importantly, the quality of food, the massive menu, the great service and the reasonable price are unbeatable.I think staff here is Japanese so the overall experience is authentic.I have taken various friends here, including people who previously had a Japanese restaurant, everyone was happy and satisfied.They have a daily special menu which I attached the photo here. It is kind of fun to try coming here on a different day of the week every time.Parking: There are not many parking spots in front of the restaurant, so it is kind of luck, especially when it is busy during dinner time.

Highly recommend this wonderful restaurant? This was some of the best sushi i have ever had! Especially, Salmon sashimi. And also i want to compliment the server who has the long hair. Even though she’s busy, she gave me nice service and unforgettable smile:)Thanks for her kindness??
