This place is generally crowded and the servers generally seem overwhelmed- hence human error quickly becomes involved. Aside from that, the actual food is mediocre. The lobster Mac and cheese for $16 has maybe 10 shreds of lobster and one or two cashew sized chunks. That's it. The truffle fries are good. Overall, nothing to write home about. It's not my favorite and dread if my extended family or out of town friends want to go here.

Definitely one of my favorite restaurants! Love that you can make rsvp online and get a txt when your table is ready! The food was great! Had the meatloaf! WOW! Waitress was very attentive. Enjoy the atmosphere there too!

Chicken Japeleno Mac Cheese do I need to say anymore( Lol) This place has a great lively vibe in the heart of downtown Knoxville.The service is outstanding and the food quality is excellent.

Ive been to Cafe 4 many times over the years and never been dissatisfied and my most recent visit was no exception. It was a typical Friday night, and a full house, but we were immediately seated and served. The appetizers chosen were the Fried Green Tomatoes. 6 healthy slices that were finely breaded and seasoned. The pepper jelly and goat cheese was different and added to flavor quite well. The entree shared was the ample helping of Lobster Mac n cheese. Quite good. The ambience is a bit challenging for intimate conversation because of the sound level for anyone seeking that , but the dining room is suitable for large or small groups. Our server had a couple larger groups in addition to ours, and was a bit busy and distracted but did ok.

Good place for dinner with a group our server was attentive to our party of 12, excellent food choices. Enjoyed my pecan crusted salmon, the grits were kind of bland but the Brussels sprouts were good.
