Bidra med feedbackSo much yum! I stumbled across Kostas one sunny afternoon in October while wandering around the picturesque Weiden. They have prime real estate in the square, overlooking cobble stone, tree lined roads. Because it was fall, all the leaves were changing color, giving the entire town a golden glow. I ordered a dunkleweisen and kebab with pita plate. Both were awesome choices! The kebab meat is mouth watering every single piece somehow manages to be a crispy edge piece. The pita was warm and soft. The tzatziki sauce was cool and tangy. And, all these rich flavors were cut beautifully by the slices of raw onion. I could give or take the rice but with so any other wonderful things on the plate, it was no big deal to just leave the rice uneaten. Things went a little squirrely at the end of the meal when I needed to pay with a credit card. After a little back and forth with the waiter, we figured it out, but I'd suggest just going with euro to avoid any awkwardness.
3.5 stars Kostas is an interesting place. Definitely an oddball mixture of German and Greek. What do I mean by that? The whole place is defined by it. Decor that 's part parthenon, part kinder eggs (yes there was a kinder egg mobile swinging from the window, but it was Easter season after all! The place could use some updating, but does have a bit of rustic charm. Food: Had a Greek salad that was a little too sweet and sour for my taste, a little to sauerkrauty. That said, it wasn 't bad, but that dressing overwhelmed the taste of the couple of cubes of feta contained therein. Dressing also overwhelmed the olives and pepperoncinis. The moussaka, on the other hand, was very good. Pillowy mash on a bed of lightly seasoned beef, eggplant, and potatoes, what 's not to like? Service: The staff is very friendly and aims to please. One of the proprietors went out of his way to get me wifi access since I was dining solo. I was a bit flummoxed though when I asked for a Mykonos beer and the waiter looked at me as if I was from Mars. All in all, a very pleasent getaway to the land of blue and white.
We were welcomed with a smile and a beautiful shot of rose liquor. Dinner and drinks were perfect, the gyro meat was quite awesome, perfectly crispy yet moist. The Moussaka was also delicious...savory with a delicate fluffy top. We will be back!!!
Delicious Greek food! The selection on the map is very good. The wine leaves with the sauce are excellent! In addition, you have the typical Greek hospitality as on holiday!
Super food, very friendly staff. Always happy. Unfortunately, it's only time to pick up. Hold on, we need you.
