Bidra med feedbackThe quality of the food at this restaurant can vary greatly depending on the chef. We had a disappointing dinner, but a delicious breakfast the next day from a different chef. The dinner was slightly overpriced for what we received.
Menu limited at time of my stay but food very good and service speedy. Cooked breakfast good but would have liked fresh fruit rather than tinned.
My experience at Ivy Farm last night was fantastic. The restaurant has undergone some changes over the years due to new management, transitioning from a formal fine dining establishment to a more casual gastro pub style. Despite this shift, the food and service remained top-notch. I opted for the Scallops as a starter, perfectly cooked, while others at my table raved about the breaded crab claws. The sticky beef main course was absolutely delicious. While it may not be considered haute cuisine, the 25% discount we received on our bill made it clear that not every dish would be made from expensive ingredients. Overall, we had a wonderful dining experience and felt that we received great value for our money. We will definitely be returning soon.
We had made a reservation at this a la carte restaurant based on the promising menu advertised on their website. However, upon arrival, we were disappointed to find that a limited Christmas menu with only 5 dishes was being offered, with the a la carte menu unavailable. This was frustrating as we had booked our reservation weeks in advance. The staff explained that they were not responsible for the menu change, but the management should have taken better control of the situation. It was misleading to advertise a menu that was not available. The food we ordered was average at best, reminiscent of a chain restaurant like Wetherspoons. We left feeling disappointed and deceived. Other guests shared our dissatisfaction with the limited menu and quality of food. For a restaurant that prides itself on its a la carte offerings, the head chef and management should be ashamed of this experience.
I had booked a Festive Afternoon Tea in person with reception staff as a surprise to celebrate my husband 's birthday this Sunday. I discussed alternative sandwiches and where we would sit in The Crooked Barn. All of this was confirmed to me. At this stage they were aware that we were not residents as lived very close. Yesterday, 5 days before my husband 's birthday this was cancelled by e-mail as 'we were not residents ' !! I am so disappointed and am now left at such short notice to organise an alternative venue within the festive busy period.
