Bidra med feedbackGreat food service. I had the chicken with Chinese vegetables with garlic black bean sauce. Chicken was very tender, veggies cooked perfectly the sauce very tasty. Great bowl of egg drop soup to start. Nice cloth tablecloth pleasant surroundings.
This restaurant deserves 5 stars. I keep coming back because everything I've tried so far is exciting and delicious. The Peking Duck is remarkably authentic. The Dim Sum is delicious, well-presented, and varied in choices. The interior is a little dark, due to lack of windows, but it is otherwise very clean and pleasant. The staff were very kind and helpful. My wife and I were given tips for Dim Sum, and helpful instruction on how to eat other Chinese dishes. If you want excellent food with a little adventure, I recommend this place.
The fried rice and egg foo young here are fantastic! I work nearby, so I frequently visit for lunch. The prices are quite reasonable considering the generous portions and high quality of the food. As others have pointed out, the interior of the restaurant could use some improvements, which might be why it’s often empty. I usually opt for takeout, so I can’t comment on the service, but the food is outstanding. There are plenty of Chinese restaurants in the area, but I always find myself returning to The Peony.
The service was friendly. The Satay Chicken was served hot and was very flavorful. I chose the mild spice option, which was a bit spicier than I expected, but that's more of a personal preference. Overall, it was a solid dish.
This restaurant offers excellent chicken and steak dishes that are perfectly cooked and not drenched in sauce, unlike many American Chinese restaurants. The food is consistently fresh. The Dim Sum is also exceptional, with a wide variety on the menu. It's rare to find good Dim Sum in Milwaukee, but they truly excel at it here. The service is prompt and courteous, and the prices are very reasonable. The dining area is quite pleasant as well.
