Bidra med feedbackWe visited the new location in Columbia and had quite a frustrating experience. We waited around 30 minutes to be seated since the place was packed for its opening night. We placed our order at 6:50 PM, but by 8:10 PM, we still hadn't received our meal. In fact, we noticed that people who arrived about 30 minutes after us were served before we were. A short woman, who seemed to be the owner or manager, apologized and explained that they were still adjusting to being new. However, this isn't an excuse since they’re just a new location, not a completely new restaurant. We ended up leaving disappointed and have no plans to return to this subpar establishment.
Avoid this place if you value your money! I ordered the BBQ nachos for $14, and I was incredibly disappointed. They tasted like the nachos you'd find at a little league game. When they mentioned you could add toppings yourself, I expected more than just a single pack of sour cream. To top it off, the owner was rude. I long for the days of truly quality BBQ. Save yourself and your cash—look for a better option elsewhere. The cheese sauce was cheap, the BBQ sauce was subpar, and the chips were stale. No thanks!
I ordered potato skins, and they turned out to be overly greasy. The cheese completely covered the potatoes, but there was no bacon. The salad was just a bag of wilted lettuce, and the chopped white onion really spoiled it. The dressing lacked flavor and needed more ingredients. We also ordered the chicken strips appetizer, which we usually receive six of, but today we only got four. My husband had to wait an hour for his food, and they were out of both bacon and ribs—perhaps there was no pork delivery. To top it off, he had to pay in cash because their credit card system was down. We’re willing to give it another try, but we intend to be there to ensure we don't pay for subpar food. They really should have offered my husband a discount due to the inconvenience. I should mention that the Waterloo location never made any mistakes during our visits.
I ordered takeout of ribs and pork steaks, along with beans. It was hands down the best BBQ I've ever tasted. I typically avoid sauce, but this was fantastic. I can't wait for you to open a location closer to me!
I drove out to Mystic Golf Course to try Mr. BBQ's cuisine. We ordered the half slab of ribs, fried chicken, and sides of fried mushrooms, fried okra, and French fries. Everything was exceptional. The ribs practically fell off the bone and were full of flavor. Kiwan, the owner of Mr. BBQ, was incredibly busy but still took the time to share his success story with us. We'll definitely be returning!
