Matryoshka European Deli - Wasilla

After moving to the Valley in 2016 following a year in Anchorage, we were thrilled to discover that the same family owned an Eastern European deli in Wasilla. This branch offers a range of made-to-order hot food like Borscht, Pelmini, Pieriogies, and Russian sandwiches, similar to the one in Anchorage. It's a great option for those seeking authentic ethnic foods in European, Middle Eastern, and Asian traditions. Highly recommend trying their pelmini and pieriogies, available in various flavors in the frozen foods section. They also sell fantastic sour cream, breaded meatballs, fresh bread, borscht, shuba, potato salad, and cabbage salad. The deli has a wide selection of deli meats, cheeses, fish, candies, jarred goods, and teas. A must-visit spot for those tired of boring American food! Highly recommended.

My husband is Russian, and when I visited his family back East, they bought a cake that I had never tried before. I absolutely loved the cake and knew I had to have it again. This restaurant serves the cake, along with many other delicious dishes!

It's great to have a nearby Central/Eastern European deli in the area. The pastries are delicious and a nice change from the usual fried donut. The potato salad was tasty, and they offer a wide variety of meats, cheeses, teas, jams, and German and Russian mustards.

We enjoy visiting this restaurant to discover unique foods and treats that are not typically found in supermarkets. They offer a wide variety of items such as different chocolates, bulk candies, sausages, teas, pickled vegetables, cookies, canned fish, fresh bread, frozen cakes, and pelmini (dumplings). Our favorite items are the fresh beef and cheese piroshkis, which are delicious when warmed up. The staff members are always welcoming and friendly.

Great service. Love to come here to find practically everything I wanted. If not in stock in the Wasilla store, they always bring needed items from Anchorage. Girl who works there is amazing and always kind and polite.
