Bidra med feedbackDrinks (cosmo vodka tonic) 1st glass dramatically different in alcohol strength. Asparagus I sent back and the potato was baked was a little bit hard to scoop out because I think it was overcook. Filet was very good but plate was not preheated enough to stay warm throughout meal
We booked the NYE experience for 10 o’clock via OpenTable. When we arrived, we were told to give them 20 mins to setup the table. Cool. We didn’t get seated til 10:40. Still cool. Waiter didn’t speak to us til I asked other waiters “Who is serving our table?” 11:20 comes, we finally order drinks and appetizers. Completely understand the long wait (it’s NYE, completely cool); however, when the waiter brings our 1 appetizer and drinks, he tells us “Hey the kitchen is closed”. You gotta be kidding me. I then personally spoke with the manager and while he tried to get our order in, we were still faced with “Sorry the kitchen is closed”. We planned our week in DC with plans to eat here for NYE. Why would you allow your reservations to extend all the way to 10 o’clock when you are telling me the kitchen closes at 10. Not acceptable. On top of that. Your staff had many opportunities to inform us when the kitchen closes. I appreciate them for taking care of the bill, but that does not make up for the NYE experience. We spent the opening of the new year in a Uber looking for other restaurants.
The restaurant isn’t what it used to be. The tomahawk ribeye for two was somewhat tough. The sides were not great. They advertised the New Year’s Eve experience. When I asked them what was included in that, they said it was a mistake on the website and it was only about the special pricing on the tomahawk ribeye.
It was not at the level we expected or paid. thanks
Dining at Charlie Palmer's is always, always a pleasurable experience. The food is fantastic, the wait staff is very responsive and the atmosphere is welcoming.
