Bidra med feedbackService: The service was standard, nothing particularly remarkable. The decor and ambiance of the place were decent and provided a comfortable setting. Food: To start, we ordered cokes. For the main course, we chose the chicken noodle lo mein with 'peek a boo chicken, ' aptly named due to the scarce three pieces of chicken in the dish. My advice would be to stick with the regular noodles and skip the chicken addition. For our next course, we opted for pork and beef dumplings. An additional charge is applied for pan-searing, which is only done on one side of the dumplings. While the dumplings were flavorful, the contrast between the crispy and soggy sides due to this cooking method didn 't justify the extra cost. Overall: The meal was decent, but there are some quality issues that need addressing, particularly in terms of portion size and cooking consistency.
I am not sure what happened to this place. I 've been coming here for years always enjoyed the dumplings. I was aware to stay away from the other food from a friend who had a bad experience on that front. I ordered 2 different types of pan-fried dumplings and while they had good flavor, they were not fried completely. They could not have been in the pan longer than 5-10 seconds on each side we were charged an additional $2 for each order being pan fried . We had ordered a side of white rice which was rock hard like it was scraped off the bottom of the pot and came in a small pile for $12.99. The 2 stars were for the friendly kid who waited on us but the food was absolutely not worth it.
These are by far the best dumplings I've tasted outside China. The dumpling skins are thin and have the perfect chew. The fillings are generous and balanced. Egg and chive, pork and sour cabbage, shrimp and chive, lamb with onion, beef with zucchini, etc. are all fantastic. We drop by every time we're in the area for a tasty reminder of home.
