Fantastic food, excellent service and friendly staff made for an excellent evening out for dinner
Second visit since it reopened and will not be last. Superb food and really can't wait until they are serving a full menu! Great selection of drinks and a lovely atmosphere
Was excited to go sample the food after reopening. After being told the kitchen wasn’t fully open but some light meals could be offered we stayed . We shouldn’t have bothered it just all seemed like nobody knew what they was suppose to be doing . However I will give it the benefit of doubt and see if it was just teething problems and try again when they are up and running properly
Called in as a last minute option, as the kid was hungry. Did call and book a table just in case. Which is a good job as the first thing we were asked is have you booked? not sure why as there weren 't anymore than 6 or 7 tables the entire time we were there. The food was okay, kind of what you 'd expect from a pub nothing special. We had: Garlic pizza bread to nibble, asked for no cheese or tomato as the kid isn 't a fan.... We must of somehow asked for extra extra garlic as what we got was a small (7 max circle of overcooked dough with so much garlic I never have to fear vampires again. Pork Belly, to which the wife said was nice but the red cabbage with cinnamon was more cinnamon with red cabbage and the mash potato needs to be cut with a knife. The sauce was delicious apparently though. Steak pie, as you 'd expect from a low end pub meal, nothing spectacular. The star of the show SHOULD have been the triple cooked chips....... Skin on chips would describe them best. For me, a triple cooked chip is light and fluffy with a crisp outer, not a soggy skin on chip. Kind had buttermilk chicken breast and chips (which were the same as my triple cooked chips so..... .... To describe the chicken more accurately go and Google bird 's-eye chicken fingers. Desserts were okay. Sticky toffee with custard. Orange brownie with ice cream, kids brownie and ice cream (same as the orange brownie . Overall super disappointed with the food, over £70 for low end pub food in my opinion. I would have let the waitress know this IF they could have been bothered with a check back to see how we were getting on. To be honest l, any level of service would have been appreciated, no check back, took an age to order (did get an apology at the start for that ages to clear after each course and took the Micheal trying to order puddings, to the point I got sick of them wiling tables around us, and asked to order to which I recieved yep, bear with me . Sorry I 've already waiting 10 minutes to order and now you want me to wait until its convenient for you? Poor. We left a tip, purely because the kid made a mess and was running around like a little...... But then again when he 's sat waiting for an age for stuff to come and be cleared who can blame him? Overall, really really poor and not what it used to be.
