This may be the best brisket I have ever tasted! It is worth the trip!
We had a fantastic meal featuring delicious brisket and beef sausage after exploring various areas of Homestead Village. We ordered a sausage plate and a pound of brisket for the two of us, and we nearly finished it all. We had to remind ourselves that it was okay to stop eating!
If I could give this place less than one star, I would. It was a significant letdown and more expensive than any barbecue restaurant I've ever visited. The brisket was awful, lacking in seasoning. They charged almost $10 for a chopped brisket sandwich, which contained only 4 ounces of old, unappetizing meat slathered in what could barely be called barbecue sauce—it had no flavor whatsoever. The sliced brisket was just below mediocre, yet they claim it's prime. To make matters worse, it took nearly 20 minutes for three staff members—who had no other customers—to prepare five sandwiches and slice a half pound of brisket. Oh, and the buns were these terrible whole wheat versions. Save your money and go for the pre-made sandwich at the general store next door instead.
This is the best BBQ in Waco, and it’s definitely worth the trip. Everything is fresh and cooked perfectly—nothing is overdone. I feel disappointed if I can't visit at least once a week. The staff is incredibly friendly and down-to-earth. Make sure to check this place out!
