Bidra med feedbackThe food was great and we enjoyed sitting on the outside deck overlooking the mountains. The burgers were delicious. The reason for the 3 star review is the wait for our food took a half hour. The place wasn't very crowded, so not sure why it took so long. Also, the tables outside were dirty.
I wanted to like this place. I really did. It has some great things going for it, unfortunately the food wasn't one of them. So I'll start with the good: Great location right on the Main Street which makes for great people watching. There's also outdoor seating on the deck with sweeping views of town and the surrounding hills. The place was clean, the seating comfortable, the bathrooms tidy. Ordering was very simple. I loved that everything came as a meal with tots and a drink and the prices were fair. The server was courteous and in good spirits. Our order was ready pretty quickly. Now for the not so good: I ordered the cheeseburger. When I read the description on the menu board as having beer cheese sauce, I started drooling, but alas the fantasy of such a burger was far better than the reality I was served. The beef patty was very, very charred. If ever there was any seasoning on the patty (at least salt and pepper please? it went completely undetected due to the overpowering flavor of carbon. About the cheese sauce I was so looking forward to, it was so incredibly mild and void of flavor that it, too, might as well have been completely absent. I tasted a bit of the cheese sauce by itself and it didn't taste like much at all. It was served on a toasted torta roll that was too dense to do any good for the burger. So each bite more or less tasted like burned meat and bread. I couldn't get beyond three bites even though I was quite hungry. The tater tots were nice and crispy, and the secret sauce accompanying them was just OK, but I ate all the tots otherwise I would have walked away still famished. I'd love to see this place thrive with a standout, must-have burger. The cheese sauce for the cheeseburger is a great idea, but it needs to have a stronger, more pungent flavor, otherwise why bother? And of course, all the sauce in the world can't make up for a burned and unseasoned patty.
Customer service was horrible. When my friends and I walked in, one of my friends tried to talk and joke with the cashier and the cashier just frowned and said to order when we were ready. When my friend ordered, she forgot to order a beer. When she said she forgot, the cashier said she already charged and did not even ask if she 'd like to do another transaction. When my other friend ordered, she got the grilled cheese meal for herself, $4 and the grilled cheese KIDS meal for her son $5 they were exactly the same size. The only difference was, the kids meal was supposed to come with apple juice instead of soda like her meal. When her order was ready, they handed her two, small styrofoam cups. One for her soda, and one for his..... apple juice? When I went up and asked for the apple juice, I was informed that I was supposed to ask for it. She then told me to bring the cup up and she would get me some. I brought the cup, thinking she was going to exchange it for a juice box. Nope, she pulled the apple juice out of the deep fridge and poured me a glass. Finally, when I ordered my meal, I ordered the cheese burger that was to come with regular tater tots. I asked to upgrade the regular tots to garlic tots. She very rudely said, no. You have to order the whole order of garlic tots. I decided against it and completed my order. They also couldn 't be bothered to provide a pitcher of water to a group that spent over 50 dollars at their restaurant. The burger was ok, but not worth the rude treatment. Oh and there was mouse poop on the window sills. Enjoy :
Ok close your eyes... no wait open them because you can't read this with them closed. Now I want you to imagine a hamburger. This hamburger is a little different though. In addition to a huge, thick patty there is also thick bacon strips, a delicious, juicy breaded fried chicken breast, fried mozzarella sticks, marinara sauce, BBQ pulled pork, a fried egg, a giant corn dog, and gooey cheese sauce. SAY WHAT?! Yep. This is a thing that exists. (Disclaimer: I think it was not supposed to have a corn dog and WAS supposed to have coleslaw but they may have been out of coleslaw and subbed the corn dog instead? However, this is something they should just do. Or maybe you could just ask them to put both. I mean, why not? You only live once... and maybe not for long if you eat like this) So, you get this burger that's the size of a toddler AND they serve it with a heaping portion of golden, crunchy tater tots. It's unreal. Other meals aspire to be this meal. They also do normal burgers and corn dogs and chicken sandwiches and salads and stuff. And they do a verity of different loaded tots. It took quite a while to get our food but 1. It was super busy (Hot Aug Nights) 2. The place is pretty new still 3. This thing takes some time to make, I'm sure. It includes Old McDonald's entire farm! Look, just stop drooling and go to Virginia City Bar Grill.
Worst food in Virginia City. Burger overcooked and overseasoned. BBQ pulled pork burger doesnt come w BBQ sauce (in fact, they dont have it at all for patrons)...and the meat tastes like it was seasoned with a pound of sugar. I took a bite and it was so gross I threw it out. Pretty slim pickings on menu items too. Dont recommend.
