Bidra med feedbackStopped here after walking to the end of the breakwater. What a great place to get a refreshment or some food. Friendly staff.
This cafe sits in a lovely location and on a beautiful day it was nice to sit out on the deck. We were a group of four, two couple's, who placed their order at the counter one after the other. The two orders arrived at least 15 minutes apart. Really not acceptable. Each order had a soup and salad and either a toasted sandwich or a burger. My soup was nice, but the salad was very tart with too much vinagar in the dressing. The sandwich and burger were ok but the bread was a little stale on the burger. If I were to return I'd try something different off the menu, there was nothing positively memorable about the experience we had at this venue, although the parking was good.
The fried pickles are great, but I was disappointed by the batter on the fish. We arrived early, so the oil may not have been hot enough. The fish seemed oily, as if cooked in too low a heat.
We walked out on the Breakwater causeway to see the lighthouse and then stopped at this cafe when we were back. Great cinnamon rolls and good drinks. Friendly service and nice views of the bay.
Average to very good-you order at the counter and then find a place to sit. Decent food selections; mushroom soup was very good, hamburgers ok but a little dry. There is a bar available. Mostly worth the trip to walk on the breakwater that extends into the entrance of Victoria Harbour.
