What can I say, a few years ago I frequently went to Mattei for an aperitif, which was undoubtedly very good, however with regret I was very disappointed by the last experience: My girlfriend and I spent €45 for two buffet aperitifs. The aperitif included access to a decent buffet, but our drinks were a tiny, ice-filled soft drink and a mediocre gin and tonic. When ordering, moreover, my girlfriend asked how the aperitif worked and the waiter replied that with €14 we would have had unlimited access to the buffet, neglecting to communicate that the drink was not included, as normally happens in any place that offers aperitif. In Milan, the most expensive city in Italy, an aperitif costs on average €15 including drink. Reluctantly I will never return.
