Bidra med feedbackThe Caffe India we went to is in Castello, not Murano. Service was very slow, although the place was nearly empty, and the food, when it finally arrived, was repulsive. Grilled vegetables were greasy and flaccid. Fried calamari was pale, undercooked, and rubbery. (I sent it back, although the waitress argued. Gnocchi swam in grease. If this is the same place, MOVE ON.
First, the Caffe India we visited is not at the address listed, nor does it match some of the reviews. We visited Caffe India on Via Giuseppe Garibaldi in Castello...just down from Sottoprova. It had the same logo though. We had prosciutto pizza with a fried egg on top for 10 Euro. We found it tasty. Two Cokes were 7 Euro. Strawberry gelato with fresh strawberries and whip cream on top was 6 Euro. Service was mediocre.
Stopped in for some cappuccino and pastry. Neither disappointed. Cappucino made to order and pastry were local and fresh. Well worth it.
Stopped for a snack and a drink. Fried calamari was excellent. In a light tempura style batter and really crisp. Aperol sprintz good value at 4 euros.
We wanted a casual lunch,it was busy. I had seafood risotto, prosecco, and an espresso. My partner had pasta with salmon sauce,a beer and a cappuccino. We ate with plastic cutlery and paid almost 35 euros so not great value. Seafood risotto was quite a small serve with teeny tiny mussels and prawns but still quite tasty.
