Bidra med feedbackBeer was decent. Food was awful. We ordered the meatball sub, sausage and pretzel bites and also ordered the ham cheese pasties. The pasties came out dry and burnt. Then when we went to order other food as the initial pasties were so bad and they closed the kitchen 30 minutes before closing. Honestly I would just go somewhere else.
Dog friendly, covered and uncovered patio seating, good beer, yummy pasties.
We were running out of places to try for dinner, so we stopped by at Camp Colvos. We ordered two chicken pasties and a cider. We were pleasantly surprised by the 'clean ' tasting pasties with tender and chunky pieces of chicken, carrots, and mushrooms. The pastry was flaky but not greasy. Unlike the traditional pastie, it did not have a knob at the end for holding on to, and in any case, it was too hot to hold. I 'm wondering if they have a really hot oven or they use MerryChef ovens to heat them up. We loved the pasties so much we shared a third one and came back the next evening for more. I did, however, have an episode of heat stroke sitting in the beer garden. Even though it was the evening sun, the sun shade on the top did nothing to block out the sun and the heat. I ended up having to sit across the street in the shade to recover.
Unfriendly staff is an understatement. Tried this place a few times and got the same experience each time. Pizza is good, beer is overpriced IMO.
We ordered 3 pepperoni pizzas and one Chicken Pastis. The pepperoni pizzas tasted like Safeway frozen pizza. Minimal amount of cheese and pepperoni plus a mediocre crust means we will not return The chicken pastis was good. The service was uninspiring.
