La Piazza Dario - Vancouver

The food at this restaurant is consistently delicious, though we feel that the portion sizes are a bit on the smaller side. The ambiance and service are excellent.

I hadn't visited this restaurant in many years and was worried it might be outdated. However, I was pleasantly surprised to find that the food and service were just as good, if not better, than I had remembered. The Caprese salad was the freshest I have ever had in the country and the duck was cooked perfectly.

The portion sizes of the main dishes were small considering the high prices of this restaurant. I ordered the elk, which was tasty, but was disappointed to receive only 5 small pieces of meat that were probably less than 5 ounces in total. The service was incredibly slow and the wine pouring was haphazardly done.

Darios always has very good food, excellent service and lovely old-fashioned ambiance. It is perfect for a business lunch as you can hear one another speak. There is ample free parking and the location at the Italian Cultural Centre is central to everything. Highly recommended.

Always enjoy dinner at the Dario. Highly recommend it.
