Bidra med feedbackMy girlfriend and I, along with our hungry doggie, came to Olympic Village and decided last minute to try out the gastropub. Despite it being busy, we didn't have to wait too long. This place is very dog friendly, with the owner even having a Siberian husky named Nacho. Our server was fantastic, making great recommendations and serving strong drinks. The food has a fusion style, so don't expect traditional authenticity. It's more for fun, which might not appeal to everyone.
The food at this restaurant is excellent! The drinks are very potent, which is a positive attribute. The menu has recently been refreshed with fantastic new items, and they also offer an amazing happy hour selection.
Having a toddler with me makes it challenging to visit restaurants that are not in my neighborhood or along my usual routes. That's why I am grateful when my job gives me the chance to try new places. Recently, I had the opportunity to dine at Bao Down in Mount Pleasant. I ordered the 'Same Same' pad thai for $16 and it was definitely worth the price. The server recommended it for a more filling meal and I was not disappointed. The shrimp in the dish were large and plentiful, while the noodles had a slightly sweet sauce that was balanced out by the freshness of the shrimp. The noodles were cooked perfectly and I appreciated the unique presentation of having the omelette served on the side instead of mixed in with the dish.
First time trying their Bao!!!It was really good : I loved their happy hour!Place fill up quickly even we got there at 5pm!I was bit worried their kimchi fries because i don't eat spicy food but it wasn't spicy at all : Lettuce wrap and fried rice was perfect portion.I will go back and try other items too!
I have been meaning to try this one of a while now, so to walk in, wade past the plumes of smoke, and to hear that they had a problem with their kitchen; had me setting myself for a deep disappointment. The smokey air was due to a poor ventilation issue, but it would soon be resolved. This is their newest and second location, in Olympic Village. It comes a lot more space covered in a lot of varnished wood. A lengthy family style table centred the room between booths on either ends. Above them all were wood blocks holding bulb after protruding bulb, with several more strung together by black cable. Yet somehow the room was still fairly dim in an orange tint.
