Bidra med feedbackThe pizza was fine, but overpriced for what it was. In addition, it seems that the owner is an anti-mask and customers who wore masks would call after removing the mask order.
I was super excited to try this place, but I found the lemon oil to make the pizza overwhelmingly oily and to salt the Ricotta cheese and Pesto wine. I could only eat one piece and then get a stomachache. I can give it another chance and try the Marinara, but next time I am enjoying pizza I will make the trip to Portland.
The menu has not labeled vegan options, but the staff was able to answer which vegans were offered (the pesto and the marinara) as well as those that could be made easily vegan by making their hazelnut ricotta for the milk cheese. We did that with the mushroom pizza that was very good. Pesto, too. I thought that was a bit strong on the lemon, but still good. One side for a cold day is that they have the large wood stove in the middle of the restaurant, so it is very cozy and warm inside.
This place was on my radar since I read a piece on Eater Portland about restaurants in Vancouver that were worth coming from Portland (high bar, I know). I finally made the trip. The food was quite good; the crust was solid, but there was only a vegan option on the menu. I agree with the review below that they were too generous with the pesto that it was a little overwhelmed when I nodded on the pizza. I also learned from the very friendly staff that they have another vegan pizza from the menu with wild mushrooms and the same hazelnut cheese. I'll ask the next time! They only have 1 purely vegan pizza and it’s the Pesto Pizza. They have hazelnut spread which is really good, but I felt like the pizza had too much Pesto on it. If I went back I’d order the Pesto Pizza with “light on the Pesto”
