Bidra med feedbackGreat when it was open. Sold to a Mexican food place and no gluten free items. Boo!
Service was great, food was good with pricing in line of average. A bit confusing with the signage saying Whistlestop Cafe but a banner hanging to the side said Arroyoa 's Mexican . The menu was 100% TexMex, almost too much listed making it overwhelming.
I ate here about an hour ago and it was great. The service was amazing, our food came out in about 10-20 min and there were check-ins making sure our meal was ok and we were refilled. I got the catfish and the meal was amazing. There was no grey meat which would usually make the fish taste gamey. It came with great tarter sauce, fries and Coleslaw. The fries had a seasoning on them and were great. After my meal our waitress asked if I needed a box I realized I still had a price of catfish and no tarter sauce. I asked for a little more and she returned with a full cup of tarter in case a I ran out again. It really is the little things that matter. Overall this is one of my favorite places to eat and I will definitely be back with my family.
Update: kinda tanked. We stopped going. The new Arroya Mexican food still offers some of the Whistestop menu. We have been dining there for the $1 taco night with free Margaritas. Tonight was chicken or combo fajitas for $8.99. The food was good. The service was good too. I would recommend Arroya now.
This is no longer the Whistle Stop Cafe, this is a New Mexican food place seemingly run by teenage girls and a microwave. (Until they played music you could literally hear the microwave and the plates came out very hot. I ordered tacos and instead of warming the filling and then putting it in the shell, they warmed it as a whole resulting in a soggy mess. Service itself was adequate. Iced tea was practically water but they did have machines so you could get something else. Every table including ours waited about 30 minutes for food so that added insult to injury of bad food.
