Albano's Pasta Shop - Valparaiso

I came here for my birthday and it was PHENOMINAL! The beginning appetizers and bread was great. The tortellini no matter what they were were insane. The staff was great and friendly, but sometimes there's two different music's playing at once and that's a real set off. And lastly the place burned the hell out of my eyes because of strong onions or garlic or something, but the food was so worth the wait that it didn't matter too much to me.

We were visiting valpo for the weekend and were looking for a nice dinner on a Friday night for our anniversary. Sat outside, ordered a few bottles of wine, the bread app and some pasta as the entree. This place absolutely blew our expectations away and will be the biggest reason we visit valpo again. The pasta tasted like everything was home grown and made from scratch specifically for our order. Every wine we tried was matched perfect with our meal and the wine server was incredibly insightful and polite. Overall Albano’s turned what was a nonchalant anniversary into one to remember. Thank you to the chef and service!

One word...AMAZING!! Everything that I ordered was near perfect. My waitress was super helpful in making suggestions. Portion size was just right. If I had self control, I could have had leftovers. And then....the blueberry lemon cheesecake. I can't wait to come back to Valpo just so I can go here again.Food: 4/5

Visiting Valpo for a few days, we made a last minute change in our dinner plan, and so glad we did! Best Italian food that we have had (outside of being in Italy)! All of the pasta is homemade, which makes all the difference. Fresh, homemade bread dipped in oil that had a delicious hint of onion flavor outstanding! The Short Rib Tortellini was out of this world, and Grammy’s Lasagna was also amazing, I love when the edges have crispy, caramelized cheese. The sauces and cheeses were so delicious! We also had to try the meatballs, they did not disappoint juicy and peppery, topped with delicious sauce and creamy ricotta. The service was outstanding, Leah took such great care of us, really went above and beyond. We will definitely be back the next time we are in the area!

The wine was AMAZING! The owners came out and greeted us and told us about it. Such an amazing evening! Now the food, WOW! The meals were excellently but I have never had an app bread that made me want to just eat that… forever! The chef, Nick is a genius. I love this place and I just love the owners of the winery. The staff was great, oh and I forgot the cheesecake! Don’t leave without trying! The peach bourbon was my favorite! Go tonight!
