Bidra med feedbackI'm a big fan of Nu. During my time studying in Cape Town, I frequented the Green Point location more often than my student budget allowed! So, I was thrilled to learn that they were opening a branch in my hometown of Durban. I've been there a few times over the past few weeks, and I must say, the food is on par with what I enjoyed in Cape Town. However, the service leaves much to be desired. When it gets busy, there are often dirty tables, and you have to request the removal of dirty plates yourself. Today, they even forgot about my breakfast order, and after asking twice, it finally arrived only after everyone at my table had already finished their meals. Despite this, their food and smoothies are fantastic. Some of my favorites are the protein flapjacks, the hearty wrap (they offer gluten-free wraps for an extra R15), and the blueberry riefer smoothie!
I had a wonderful experience at this restaurant! The coffee was excellent, and the staff was very friendly and attentive. We ordered the Brainiac Salad, which was delicious and packed with flavor, as well as a dish called Awaken, featuring a juicy chicken breast. Unfortunately, I found the couscous that came with it a bit too bland for my liking. The place is small but managed to create a relaxed atmosphere, with a nice blend of indoor and outdoor spaces. I definitely plan to return soon. If they maintain this level of service and quality, it could become a local favorite for me!
If you're in search of genuinely healthy food, this place is a great choice. Mornings are the perfect time to visit. Their apple, lime, and ginger juice is truly delightful, and the avocado on toast is a must-try. However, the waitstaff could improve their knowledge of the menu; at times, they appear quite confused.
Another great addition to the Nü family, ideally located in sunny Umhlanga. My favourites on the menu are the detox juice blend, plain frozen yoghurt, protein flapjacks, and Strawberry B smoothie.
