Bidra med feedbackNot welcoming at all! This 40 something amateur and stressed out business owner is obviously over her head in serving the two-three customers she had. Driving out from Calgary to see some of the sites she was " insulted" at our presence. She must learn, business for dummies that more people that are visible will bring more people. She obviously preferred to feed her two friends unlimited coffee than help make two tourists feel welcome in this little hamlet. We drove on to Okotoks where we were welcomed as if we were long lost family. Shame on you! I will tell everyone I meet NOT to go to this restaurant. She must learn one bad report can influence her future. A little kindness goes a long way. Oh what happened to that small town hospitality? You move on to Okotoks! Notice you don't see anyone?
Like most adventurous Calgarians, we've zoomed past this unassuming cafe on Highway 22 dozens of times, barreling toward the excellent hiking opportunities in the South Kananaskis, often saying to ourselves: "We should eat there sometime!" We had tried a couple of times prior, but they didn't happen to be open, but we managed it just recently. We didn't know what to expect. The cafe interior is rustic and pleasant, and not too large. We were the only ones there at the start, but more arrived later. Staff were pleasant enough, and it seemed like this is a local 'hangout' big time, which is cool. But if you're not a local, then you're a spectator, and that isn't so cool. The food was average. My burger was okay, a bit on the dry side and the bun was toasted a bit on the dark, almost burnt side. We also had a smoked meat bagel, and that's really all it was, meat on a bagel with a pickle. It seems they don't have a deep frier, as the potato they served was a bit odd, cubed, like a hash brown, with evidence of spice, but no flavour. I'd go here if you're interested is experiencing locals out for a bite (but an average bite). This could be a hot spot if they expanded the kitchen, seating, and got a real talented chef. Until then, it's average.
Went there today at 11am - busy but not totally full. Ordered a soup and the Cowgirl breakfast that included 1egg a sausage - 1 strip of bacon and hash browns.... After 50 minutes checked with our waitress and our order hadn't even been started yet... It was 3 orders away!! Cancelled our order and left ... Service was terrible even tho they had enough staff - won't be going back
Had the chili and corn bread. Superb. Tiny little place and always packed. Go before after the noon lunch hour. Great pies.
My daughter and I went to the Corner House Cafe today for lunch, after travelling to Millarville (from Okotoks), to purchase a lawnmower. The restaurant is relatively cozy inside (~4 tables), but there is also plenty of outside seating. My daughter thoroughly enjoyed her quesadilla, and my burger was also quite good. The staff was friendly and helpful, and after seeing another table order the strawberry cream pie, my daughter gave me what was left of her quesadilla, so that she would have room for a slice of pie - which was also excellent!! We will definitely be back with the whole family.
