Bidra med feedbackOnly looked in to see if we could have a table to say service does not begin until 1900h (1830h published outside) rudely by a waitress. I didn't want to try the restaurant with such a bad attitude...
We stayed in Turckheim to visit the WWII museum (deserved stop) and find a place for lunch. We went from several, whose menus were the same old. Found Le Stewala and noticed the more interesting menu of the day. Found lunch to be far beyond our expectations. The Prix Fixe was beautiful sausages of two styles with red cabbage and noodles. The sausages were delicious and red cabbage was at a completely new level of excellence. The cream Brûlée was as silky as you want. Others had a wonderful trout and a dessert of fresh plums boiled in red wine and served with a Speculos ice cream. Would come back in a minute.
We have visited Stewala both last year and again this year and both times the food has been excellent. The restaurant is quite small, so it is a good idea to reserve a table. Service is great, but sometimes it takes somre time to get...drinks, coffee etc because there is only one waitress and she is busy, but it doesn’t matter because the food is so good and the place is cozy. Prices are very fair we paid 16 euros for choucroute and it was the best choucroute we have ever had. We will definately comeback back next time we’re in Alsace.
We had simply, an excellent meal . All of the dishes were expertly prepared. The cook was spot on for the meats ordered. The presentation was perfect. The price was more than reasonable for the quality of the dishes. The service was efficient and friendly.
Very well welcomed by a young and friendly boss, you can enjoy, in a pleasant setting, traditional dishes of the alsatian cuisine so tasty baeckeoffe, for amateurs, I advise you the loins of calf, a feast ! Intakes and desserts are not in the rest and the price of drinks is like the very reasonable dishes, in the end, a rather light addition to the well filled bellies!
