Charro Del Rey - Tucson

Four of us had an early dinner at CDR on March 26th. In general, our experience did not live up to CDR's reputation. My wife and the other lady in our party had the Del Rey Caesar with shrimp and chicken and they felt the Caesar was very understated and not remarkable. The other male in our party had the Filet Mignon, which he felt was excellent. We ordered an order of Esquites to share and they were tough and not creamy. I had the 12oz. Prime Rib and it was prepared perfectly but at least 5oz. was fat; the tenderness of the Prime Rib was just OK. We won't return. However, in contrast, Charrovida on Oracle Rd. is a solid 4+ star restaurant.

Great special occasion restaurant. We love that they serve American style seafood, alongside classic Mexican dishes. Make a reservation well in advance! Specify where you want to sit of they will stick you in the dark bar area.

Found this place scrolling through the list of restaurants and came across Charro Steak Del Rey and it was fantastic! Prime rib was flavorful, filet was cooked perfectly, and the pb c cake phenomenal. This place won’t disappoint. Service was stellar as well.

A very enjoyable experience and it’s an extensive menu of streaks, seafood, and Mexican dishes completed by a wide selection of beer and wine. We started with the meatballs and chili con queso minis and promptly ordered mere meatballs. For my main I chose the surf and turf enchiladas which were delicious (my colleagues and enjoyed the streaks and bone in chicken. Our sides included the sprouts (exceptional) and the macaroni and cheese (rich and creamy). The desert included sever reorders of the strawberries which were outstanding. Great service and atmosphere. Highly recommended.

Husband and I went for our Anniversary and was very pleased. Great food and welcoming atmosphere.
