The Sawyer At Schaffer's Mill - Truckee

Our first dinner at The Sawyer and will definitely not be our last. The staff (entire) was attentive, professional and smiled. The food was outstanding. Don't know exact what they are doing but was refreshing to see and very satisfying.

We have been to the Sawyer so many times over the years with family and friends. Historically it has been fantastic. Tonight not sure what was up but the staff seemed out of it. My main was not hot. To start between server and the bar keeps they could not figure what was on draft and it took three trips to figure that out and get my beer to me. Then later in the meal forgot the second beer ordered. Wife's drink was basically ginger beer with ice not a virigin mojito. My wife's salad the server asked if she was going to be ok with the feta in it (garden salad) as wife did not want any other protein. Wife said yes feta is great and I commented she loves feta. Salad showed....no feta. Food service for mains generally this night was slow. Bummer as Sawyer is a favorite when we come to our mountain home and we have recommended to others countless times but wow not sure what is happening or if it just the Lake Tahoe service issue problems extending to this location. Heard a table next to us with issues also. Atmosphere is always great though.

Our dining experience was great overall; however, we were hoping for more gluten-free options.

High quality food in a beautiful setting. Friendly service as well.

The Sawyer continues to be o e if our favorite restaurants in Truckee. Great happy hour until 5pm. Friendly service and excellent food.
