Recently eight locals in our group dined at this restaurant on Merritt Island. We wanted to say a fond farewell to our favorite Polish Chef Val Jasinski. He is retiring and relocating to Poland to be near family. The restaurant will continue to operate under two new chefs with the same American Polish cuisines. There are many delicious American cuisine offerings for breakfast and lunch. For breakfast choose from English Muffins, Toast, Bagels, Waffles, Egg Cheese Sandwich, Breakfast Platter, Jumbo Breakfast Wrap, bacon, sausage, sliced ham plus a selection of beverages. The deli choices for lunch are varied and include Turkey, Ham, Roast Beef, Pastrami, Philly Cheese Steak, Meatball Sub, Tuna, Egg Salad, BLT and Grilled Cheese – even PB J for the kids or big kid in you. I have only ordered the Ruben Sandwich on one occasion. When I dine here, always with friends and family, we want to order from the Polish Specialties Menu. On this visit, seven of us ordered the substantial and popular Polish Sampler consisting of Kielbasa, Stuffed Cabbage, Hunter Stew (Bigos) Pierogies plus mini cups of Potato Salad minced beets and sour cream – so good. In addition, one couple also added the hearty Potato Pancakes to their order. The Potato Pancakes were passed among our group by this generous couple and sad to say, by the time they got back to them, the Potato Pancakes were mostly gone. They were crispy on the outside, soft on the inside. Our eighth diner ordered the wonderful Mixed Kielbasa Platter. Everything arrived at our tables hot from the oven and delicious – cooked perfectly. Most of us needed boxes for our leftovers. All of us were quite pleased with our meals and the friendly service provided by the two servers. Val stopped by our reserved tables to chat and graciously posed with us for the photo posted below. Although the restaurant in located at the back of the Island Lincoln/Mercury Dealership, the public is invited to dine here. Drive around to the back parking lot. There are labeled spaces just for the restaurant patrons. Take the elevator to the second level place your order at the service counter. Enjoy the large picture windows while you wait for your freshly cooked meals to be delivered to you. I always feel that I am dining al fresco when I sit under one of the patio umbrellas in the dining area and gaze at the palm tree mural on the opposite wall. Help yourself to complimentary coffee bar courtesy of the dealership available at Island Club Carbucks located just outside the dining area. If you are a big group, you can reserve the private dining room. I wish Val happiness and good health in his retirement and wish the new owners much success at this location. I will be back soon to meet the new chefs and enjoy more Polish cooking.
