We enjoyed one of the best meals ever and felt like we had gained knowledge of the treasured food of the area with the Tropea onion being a star. Every dish we were served was delectable and refined yet still humble and sincere. The accompanying wine was delicious too. I'm really thankful that we got to enjoy this Tropean experience and highly recommend it
What a fabulous experience. I'd exchanged a number of emails with Chef/Patron Michele in advance so I think we both felt some affinity even before the dinner; so it all started off in a very positive way. As my husband is not keen on fish (which is the feature of most restaurants on the coast of course), it was great to have a vegetarian meal and it proved a huge hit for him even without meat. The location and ambience is very simple yet special, in keeping with the cuisine and wines. Book in advance, turn up on time, sit back, relax and let the wine and food arrive with the charming Michele.
Incredible eating experience really has made me want to become more vegetarian (not quite ready to give up meat yet). The onions are the star, of course, but the aubergine was also raised to another level. Every course was delicious and the ricotta desert was one of the best puds I have eaten. The owner was friendly, funny, and interesting to talk to. He happily shared his recipes and you could clearly feel his passion for the food.
Osteria di cipolla rossa, un incantesimo tra i vicoli di Tropea...dove la magia nasce tra le mani abili dello chef romano che insieme al suo compagno di michele, così come il proprietario del club, fanno il palato e il cuore eccitare. un piatto di pasta, una poesia incantevole, la storia di una terra da scoprire. Prima di tutto, lo consiglio per coloro che cercano nel caos dei tropea, una situazione tranquilla a metri dalla movida. Devo congratularmi con l'ospite (middle) che coccola i suoi pochi clienti da un padrone di casa egregio. eh già, pochi clienti, solo tavoli per un servizio liscio e ben tenuto. i piatti sono tradizionali, preparati alla perfezione, abbinati ai vini corretti e mai banali. masticare la vera calabria di un tempo con materie prime di grande livello. Congratulazioni! Ah, la prenotazione è obbligatoria
