Marisqueria La Lonjita - Torremolinos

Had a seafood feast here. Had the prawns. Clams. Crab legs and calamari’s. Kinda a seafood tapas experience. Spoke good English and east to order. It is €3 per plate and the serving size is very generous. The flavour and freshness is also excellent. Nice finding these non tourist trap places in the middle of torremolinos. Will defo be back before I leave. Bill came in at just over €20 and was stuffed.

We ordered our food, 2 cans of beer, 1 portion of large prawns and a portion of squid. It all arrived in good time and the squid was nice but came with no dip or bread. The big prawns, 4 on a plate, looked ok but once I started to shell them they were not cleaned and obviously deep fried as oil oozed out of them. We were given 2 glasses of beer instead of the cans we had asked for which cost more than the cans. We asked 3 times for the bill, on one occasion the waiter/possible owner was standing drinking instead of serving people (there was only him and a lady working) Eventually the bill arrived and we questioned it as it said 1 portion of big prawns was 8euros, the menu said they were 4euros, he argued that he had given us 2 portions which we hadn’t requested and wasn’t reflected on the bill, he also tried to charge for bread that we didn’t have, he then just walked away ignoring us. Needless to say we will not be going back as the food wasn’t great and the service was worse.

It was great to see a new seafood place open in town, occasionally you feel that some of the old ones have the monopoly and lose a little bit of interest! I went in really wanting this place to fulfil expectations, as soon as I went in and saw dirty tables, I immediately lowered my expectations! Looking in their display fridge, I cant say it looked inviting, but still wanted to 'give it a go '... We had scallops and prawns, scallops very small and rubbery, cooked prawns had not been 'cleaned ' (ok, I know not everywhere does this..but ... Waitress was very prompt, but no smiles! oh well, we tried it, and still managed a few drinks, but will not return.

Por estar cerca del centro y el mar tiene que ser una maravilla y marisco fresco.

Tercera o cuarta vez me voy, y siempre es un placer. Todo muy rico. Es más caro que otros, pero también te digo que es de mejor calidad que otros. camarones a la pila es mi recomendación, con pan extra a sopas húmedas.
