Bidra med feedbackI enjoyed the good fortune of being very close to a start-up boutique artisan chocolate manufacturer, operated by the gourmet chocolatier, Jeff Gardner, originally trained in Montreal, Canada. When you meet him, you immediately feel the depth of passion for artisan chocolate in his heart and soul. It all shows in his final chocolate products which you have to sample for yourself. Hand-made, small-batch, craftsman chocolate from Central American chocolate beans to 74%, 89%, to 100% pure chocolate has its own distinctive, pure cocoa flavor unadulterated by chemicals and preservatives or excessive sugar or cocoa butter. You are tasting near-pure chocolate as history and nature intended. Therefore it is a taste that some people-long used to mass-produced chocolate-will actually have to learn to love, and love it they will. Besides the artisan chocolates, other confections include 89% chocolate cakes and tarts. The piece de resistance is Jeff's individual cup made hot chocolate, which is the closest thing to drinking a melted chocolate bar. The last time I experienced something this delectable was expresso hot chocolate in Seattle. Because Jeff Gardner only believes in 100% quality, not 99% or lower, the value of his chocolates is high but after enjoying his artisan, European-fashion chocolates, you will understand that such heights of culinary cocoa quality does not come cheap. You want cheap, go buy a grocery store chocolate bar but you get what you pay for. Jeff is admirably helped by his talented spouse, Naomi, who runs the store and regales customers with samples of Jeff's best chocolates. Naomi can be found on weekends at local farmers' markets, introducing their boutique chocolate throughout the South Bay. Backing up the store with continued friendly customer service is the Gardner's hard-working, smart and pretty eldest child, Emma. If you've never sampled this style of Old World chocolate craftsmanship, you owe it to yourself to try it at least once. You may find that once is not enough and you will return again and again.
A true chocolate lovers paradise. If you love homemade treats made on premise, from estate grown beans, chocolate bars in different levels of pure chocolate, this is the place. Also filled chocolates with pure tastes of locally grown mint, lemon, orange and add home made caramel and more. Welcoming the whole family is warm and hard working. Need something special, they will try. In Torrance zip 90503 at Del Amo and Anza. A local business, quite a surprise, world class ingredients, gracious owners.
