McCowan Fish & Chips - Toronto

Good food... I'm not much for fish or seafood, but their chicken fingers and chips are good.Can't complain.

Been going here for years! Light crisp batter and always consistant. Never fails to deliver an amazing product. Tastes much better than the ones in downtown. A MUST GO TO PLACE!

The fish and ships can be very good here however, I would suggest that visitors don't order any of the sides such as coleslaw or beets. The owners serve the sides in tiny thimble-size plastic containers which barely hold a tablespoon of product. Others have complained about the extra charge if you request a few additional packets of tartare sauce — no matter how much they have spent. I would have rated this chippy higher — if not for the owners' obvious pettiness.

Fish and chips were ok , shrimp were soggy and not that great , the scallops we're large and tasty . When I asked for some lemon for fish was told there would be extra charge for the two wedges , I have never been charged for lemon before at any other restaurant it was somewhat unexpected . I've had there fish and chips many times and they were very good , this visit was average. .

Fish chips is offered like the old days in cardboard boxes, wrapped in paper. Very fast friendly service. I go there about once a month.
