Mata Petisco Bar - Toronto

Met up with old friends. Was the first visit for everyone in the group. Very chill atmosphere; convenient location. Everyone was more than pleased with the food - we tried the sliders, chicken croquettes, pork cheeks, sirloin skewer w grilled pineapple, wild mushroom gnocchi, and the dessert trio. The dishes were different from what you’d order elsewhere but not so different you didn’t recognize them – a welcome change. Wine was reasonably priced and a cool selection of cocktails. Our waiter Steve was amazing! He took the time to explain the dishes and how they’re typically consumed. He also helped us decide how much to order, as we could have easily gone overboard with so many appealing items on the menu. A drink spilled and he was right on it, cleaning up and telling us not to apologize. He also brought us an extra ball of plantain

Best coxinha ever. Better than a lot of coxinha made in Brazil. Dishes are served in tapas format, tasty food and reasonable price.

I would definitely return, 10 out of 10. My boyfriend and I visited this restaurant and we were extremely impressed. The food was outstanding and packed with delicious flavors. The drinks were crafted with passion and were quite addictive. The server was friendly and provided great conversation. I highly recommend this place.

The service at this restaurant was excellent. They confirmed our reservations earlier in the day because they expected a busy evening. I'm glad I made a reservation and that we arrived early. We were seated at a nice high table near the bar. We ordered two winterlicious menus, which turned out to be like a tasting menu. The portions were small, so I was happy we were sharing. The ceviche was the standout dish, while the fried rice was a bit bland. The desserts were delicious. The highlight of the evening was when the owner came out to explain each course and item to us.

Enjoyed a delicious meal at the Mata bar! Service and food were very satisfying and In all a very pleasant experience! Will definitely go back!
