Bazille - Nordstrom Yorkdale - Toronto

Amidst the COVID worries of the crowded mall during the holiday season, our lunch at Bazille today was a calm, quiet getaway. We did not even know this restaurant existed on the 3rd floor of the Nordstrom department store! The french onion and crab bisque to start were excellent! We followed that with our main courses. The warm Asian glazed chicken salad was very good, although I think the sauce on the chicken was a bit too salty. We ended our meal with an absolutely delicious bread pudding. Our server was polite and attentive, but not overbearing. All in all, a very pleasant lunch experience. We will be back again for sure.

I had lunch at the restaurant and ordered a Caesar salad with shrimp and a Nicoise salad with salmon. The romaine lettuce was incredibly fresh, tasting like it had just been picked from a garden. The shrimp were cooked perfectly. The service was fantastic as always. The food was of excellent quality and the atmosphere was peaceful and quiet.

I believe Bazille doesn't get enough recognition because it's located inside a department store. However, I personally love it and on this particular afternoon, I wasn't interested in the usual chain restaurants or food court options. I remembered Bazille from other Nordstrom department stores in North America. The menu was impressive, with calorie counts listed for all dishes. I decided on the famous Cilantro Lime Chicken Tacos, which were absolutely delicious. For my main course, I opted for the Crab, Mango Avocado salad. The server, Kevin, informed me that crab meat was unavailable due to supply issues, but offered to substitute shrimp instead. The salad was fresh and tasty, with perfectly cooked shrimp. I was very impressed with both dishes I ordered. I can't speak highly enough of Bazille and can't wait to come back again.

Being one of my favourite lunch spots, I returned to Bazille for an outstanding meal. The citrus lemon shrimp salad is fabulous great taste, great to look at and filling. My lunch partner had another salad that was the special of the day and it was equally fabulous. Michaela did an outstanding job of servicing us, and we always had fresh coffee in our cups. This quiet, bright, comfortable restaurant is a gem.

A wonderful meal! If you are at Yorkdale you have to check it out. Ate too fast for a pic. Great service too!
