Bidra med feedbackWe adore this restaurant and visit whenever we can, whether it's to catch up with friends, celebrate family birthdays, or have a Christmas get-together. The menu changes with the seasons and many of the dishes are made with locally sourced ingredients. The staff is friendly, the food is delicious, and overall it's a delightful hidden gem.
I had never been to this restaurant before, but decided to stop in today on a whim. I'm glad we did because our meals were delicious. The portion sizes were generous and the prices were reasonable. The only thing that seemed odd was that if you ordered a burger, you had to pay extra for chips on the side. Despite that, we will definitely return and would recommend this place to others.
That must be the most friendly pub/hotel I've ever stayed in! I came last minute in the evening trip solo, the staff was so friendly and welcoming, nothing was too much annoyed. after a long trip it was a real pleasure to use the health suite consisting of a massage chair, sauna, steam bath and heated chairs. my room was cozy and clean with a very cozy bed and a great shower. the pub was very sympathetic and the natives made me feel so welcome that I had a totally unexpected great evening listening to a local singer. the breakfast was fantastic. I will definitely come back to stay in the lion hotel and highly recommend it.
Another wonderful stay, friendly, attentive staff, first class dining, a beautiful room, heavenly slipper bath and an amazing massage in the massage chair! just what a girl needs after an hour to go up a mountain! I can't wait for the next time!
I know I'm fighting over the lion, maybe a little too much, but I just have to get my latest experience. we came by Saturday. I was not particularly hungry – I actually thought about one of the £5 snacks. how to have loaded thin chips – but something “new” on the menu caught my eye. So I tried the blue cheese and asparagus pie. Oh, my God. that was undoubtedly one of the best veggie meal I've ever had! They know that feeling when they are fit to burst, but eating is so delicious, they just can't stop eating it? this slightly melted fabric had the perfect balance of ingredients, the cheese and asparagus complement each other as the nature intended. So I wasn't too worried about how the dauphinoise kartoffel, baby carrots and French boons tasted. but yes, they were also on the next level, and the dish really did not need the creamy wild mushroom sauce served separately. but it was so vulnerable, I just couldn't leave it there. there you are. only if they think that a restaurant can no longer surprise them, the lion comes back to trump. can I blue cheese and asparagus pie to breakfast, lunch and dinner, please? every day for the rest of my life.
