The Anchor is a hidden gem on the coast of Maine that absolutely deserves your attention. From the moment you walk through the door, to the time that you leave, this is a restaurant that treats you well. The service was fantastic, and the food was among some of the best I've had in quite some time.

When we arrived I had a great feeling about this place. The owner came out and assisted my mother-in law to our porch table. The setting was spectacular. We appeared to have a waiter that was still green. We had mussels cooked in garlic and wine that were quite good, and I ordered a special of scallops asparagus and fettuccine with white sauce. I found the sauce being very bland. We decided to box up some our main course and have dessert. They were out of one by 6 o’clock, and we waited at least twenty minutes for it before deciding to ask for ur check. When we arrived there appeared to be only a few people, but when we left a 6:30 the place was very busy.

Anchor is a special treat . You can sit outside, in their air conditioned dining room or on their screened in porch with a view of the harbor boats. The food quality is good to excellent, the prices are affordable and the service is very good. We returned several times during our two weeks in Maine.

Happened upon this restaurant in the tiny village of Round Pond. The food was extraordinary; delicious and beautifully served. Our server, from Bulgaria, was right on point perfect service, friendly communicative. He made the evening for our party of four. The only recommendation...
