The Ranch

Mediocre food, terrible service, and 23% mandatory tip. I wanted to celebrate and have a great meal with the family instead left feeling like I just got hustled.

This place has the best food at the rodeo. It's nice to sit down at a table inside a building at the rodeo and eat a meal. Our food was very good and the service was great. The restaurant section was fully booked, requiring reservations only. However we were seated in the Saloon section as a walk in, which was just fine. Having said this, our lunch was grossly overpriced. The staff was clearly overwhelmed and over worked. They add a 23% tip (service charge) to the final bill which is too much, especially after an already overpriced meal. That being said, our server was wonderful, so I’m glad she got the large tip. Also, don't get the coffee, it was undrinkable way too bitter and sour. Something wasn't right there.

$50 for 2 drinks from their pre-made cocktail list. $50....the hideout has $5 drink tickets. If it was some special concoction, I would understand, but no old fashioned from a tap should be $19 plus taxes. Go to the Hideout for a good time, and go to the Ranch to help pay their rent on NRG property.

Food was ok at best. I can cook a better steak on the skillet. Not the worth what they're charging. The best thing that came out was the bowl of mashed potatoes. Service was on point, the decor and the set up itself was really nice it seemed authentic. The food was a major let down though. Prime rib was cold and over cooked.

We loved it. Our food and service were outstanding. I wish there was a better set up to get a table, but since we had such a good time, I won't complain. Music by JP Music was superb. Made out Rodeo night with Kenny Chesney a fabulous experience out. Thank uou to everyone on the team for an excellent job.
