Finn's Bistro And Beer Garden - Taupo

Had dinner at this place and was a great experience. The look, size and taste of our Tuesday 'Steak Ale ' dinner was superb. Steak was perfect and a good portion of chips and a fab tasty coleslaw. Not to mention the glass of beverage. A $20 bargain! Regan and Cate were exceptional with their service and professionalism. Thanks for a great meal!

We were pretty excited to come here for dinner our first night in Taupō and genuinely thought we'd be back again but the whole experience was pretty disappointing. The food was nice enough but not omg I need to go back. The service was non existent, the person behind the bar looked and acted like he'd rather be any where else but there not quite the welcome you'd expect when you first arrive. He wore a mask but not properly so was really no point. The person that delivered our food was friendly enough however we never had anyone come over to us at all in the time we were there, not to take drink orders or offer water for the glasses on our table which must have just been for decoration or clear our plates. It wasn't a cheap meal, it wasn't very busy and to be honest, I doubt I'd go back.

Over priced, mediocre food. The steak was the smallest I’d ever received in a restaurant and over cooked, likewise was my sons. The salad was nice but I don’t order a steak meal to enjoy the salad. Had the mousse for pudding, again over priced, small and dull. Long wait times, even though it was a Monday night and certainly not a full house. Not a place we would visit again. On a positive note, an extra star for great atmosphere and staff.

Despite the initial impression that the restaurant was quite small, the service was exceptional. The meal times were amazing, and the atmosphere was fantastic. The bar was among the best I have encountered at any restaurant. I didn't notice any flaws during my visit. Cleanliness was a top priority, which was impressive. The staff were well-trained, and everyone knew their roles and performed them excellently.
