Columbus Coffee - Taupo

This is an excellent stopover on the journey from Auckland to Napier, conveniently located just off the Taupo-Napier highway. The café is situated within the local M10 store, allowing you to either sit inside the café or relax in the garden centre while enjoying a refreshing drink and snack in a peaceful environment. The food and drinks we ordered were delicious, and the staff were friendly and attentive to our needs. The restrooms are just a few meters away in the M10 store. Overall, this is a fantastic place to take a break and recharge. I would definitely come back!

I celebrated my 18th birthday at Columbus Coffee, and it was a fantastic experience. Dining out can often be a gamble, as you wonder if the food will be worth the price, but let me tell you, Columbus Coffee did not disappoint. The food was absolutely delicious! You know that moment when you pay, wait, and then finally see your meal? The second you take a bite, it really sets the tone for the entire experience. I devoured the pancakes—they were incredible! It felt especially special, as I had been craving pancakes nearly every day for the past month. Columbus truly made my dreams come true! A special shoutout to Katie Rihia for her kindness; her warm and friendly service made my visit so much better. Thank you so much, Katie! I really appreciate it!

The blueberry muffins here are always consistently delicious. The sausage roll was tasty, and the relish was outstanding. Our son loved the Belgian hot chocolate and gave it a thumbs up. The mocha latte was just what we needed. The menu displayed in the cabinet remains the same, but there's definitely something for everyone. There's also a nice little indoor playground for kids, and they have a cozy fire if it gets chilly.
