The Ale House - Taunton Deane

This restaurant is very welcoming with a great selection of beers and ciders. Although I only dined there once out of four visits, the food was decent for the price. The service was good and the atmosphere was busy but not overly crowded.

During our weekend stay nearby, we decided to stop by this pub for a drink. The atmosphere was very welcoming and laid-back. They offer a wide variety of drinks to choose from. We spent the afternoon playing pool and watching rugby. The following day, we returned for lunch, which was delicious. Although we didn't try the Sunday dinner, it looked fantastic. I also appreciated the presence of the cats in the pub, it was charming to see how comfortable they were in the environment.

My friend and I play pool once a month and have had trouble finding a place that serves good food in a relaxing atmosphere, as I am a former army and he is a former air force member suffering from PTSD. We recently visited the Ale House and were impressed by their menu, so we decided to give it a try for our afternoon out. Today, we played some pool and enjoyed a ploughman's at the Ale House. The food was excellent, the customer service went above and beyond, and the atmosphere was so soothing that we both felt at ease. We have decided to make the Ale House our monthly boys' afternoon out spot. A big thank you to the staff and management for their warm welcome - we are looking forward to visiting again soon. I highly recommend trying their home-cooked food with a nice cold beer. It gets a big thumbs up from me and my brother in arms. THANK YOU.

We just called in for dinner before a show at the theatre. We ordered a drink and a meal for my wife and I. It was honestly the best Hunters Chicken I have ever had anywhere. Because I am coeliac I asked the chef to ensure there was no gluten. My wife had a cheese baguette and was very pleased as well. The lady then gave us free ice lollies as it was so hot.

Stopped off for a quick pint before getting our train. There was a person repeatedly shouting racist abuse about foreign people generally... p s and n s, and where they should go... the bar staff were tolerating this. Clearly this is something they are unashamed about. This went on for the duration of our drink. Here's looking at you Taunton
