Irish 31 Westshore Plaza - Tampa

I have to say, if this is the test kitchen's efforts, you have hit a home run. The quality of the dishes was truly impressive. Thank you so much!

The fish and chips were amazing, thank you. The bar experience was excellent with friendly bartenders.

The shepherd's pie was decent, but not outstanding, with a slice of cheese melted over mashed potatoes that were just okay and a satisfactory filling. The fish and chips featured overcooked cod and both the fish and fries had a bitter taste, as if they were fried in old oil. It took a while for someone to notice us and take our order, and aside from serving our food and drinks, we were largely ignored until we were done. The waiter did promptly offer to remove the disappointing fish and chips from our bill, which was appreciated.

The ice tea was great and the beer was cold. As for the pretzel, it was OK while the cheese sauce and the mustard that came with it were rather bland and not very appealing. While the basketball championships were going on their large TV froze up and wasn't working.

Nothing Irish about this pub. Couldn't even make an Irish coffee. No character. No atmosphere. It's a bar outside of a mall, with the prices to match.
