Bidra med feedbackI love the restaurant ambiance, but I am not a fan of the food or the way it is served in plastic and paper. I believe they can do better!
After checking out the menu and asking some questions to our server, we made our selections. Both of us opted for the pulled pork platters, with my husband choosing the bama-style option with two sauces and cole slaw. Unfortunately, when our platters arrived, my broccoli casserole was cold and my pork chili was lukewarm. My husband's salads were also not as cold as they should have been. Our server apologized and quickly took the dishes back to the kitchen. When they returned, everything was at the right temperature. As a gesture of goodwill, she offered us a free mudslide pudding for dessert. We appreciated her effort to rectify the situation. The food was good, with some dishes having unexpected flavors. The portions were generous and we left feeling satisfied. While nothing particularly impressed us, everything was decent. Our server was friendly and personable. The ambiance of the restaurant was pleasant, with a fireplace and multiple televisions in the rooms. We can imagine that during the winter ski season, this place will be bustling.
This restaurant offers fantastic food, excellent service, and an amazing view. It is a great place to dine in for lunch, with prices ranging from $10 to $20 per person. The food, service, and atmosphere all receive a rating of 5 out of 5. I highly recommend trying the Pulled Pork Platter.
Can 't say enough good about this place. The staff is always great and makes up for the fact that my order is never correct, but ALWAYS GREAT. The last 3 times I 've gotten take out, they forget to add in my extra cornbread and extra side of Mac that they ALWAYS remember to charge me for lol. It is what it is, the area is super hard to find quality food, let alone staff that arent burnt out old ski bums, so you learn to tolerate being charged for things you won 't get... its my fault, should 've checked my order before leaving, especially since it 's happened EVERY TIME. Again, it 's worth it. Used to be packed with customers when it was up the street, since they moved and never put up notices of a new location, new signage or on the road most people think they closed down because it 's truly hidden well. You will be VERY PLEASED with your food, just confirm you get what you 're paying for because it 's EXPENSIVE TOO!!! PORTION Portion sizes are VERY SMALL compared to other bbq joints (hence always ordering extra Particularly the mac n cheese... you will get a bigger sample cup of food at costco than you pay for here. Maybe its just the little cups they put it in, but ive never seen such small sides anywhere and RARELY are they filled more than half way...you 'll want to be sure you bring plenty of money and just ORDER EXTRA! Tip the staff well, the front of house bar staff work very hard with all the takeout and double duties. I am a bit shocked by the 20% gratuity they charge parties of 4 at a self service place as its not the customers responsibility to pay extra money to the staff IF THEY ARENT SERVING TABLES, but you also cant be cheap if you want to eat here. IVE never been charged a auto tip that ive noticed and would have challeneged it if I did. HOWEVER... If you can afford to take your kids out to eat or even to visit tahoe, the extra 20% won 't kill you!! Also horrified by the bizarre comments from whoever is posting as owner because this is NOT the experience IVE HAD with the owners or management. They have always been very professional and polite, so unless someone has millions to bankroll a business, I simply cant imagine those responses are from the actual owners... if so, I would seriously reconsider my opinion or visiting here again... let alone bringing in tons of other new customers that visit the area. Someone has worked very hard to create a VERY VERY nice restaurant so hopefully whoever is ACTUALLY PAYING THE BILLS sees and understands just how bad those responses make them sound and look! (Not like successful business owners who appreciate customers, but very much like COMPLETE A HOLES!! Last but not least, BRING YOUR POOCH! THEY HAVE AN INCREDIBLY NICE area for people sitting with dogs outside. The view is great from anywhere on the property and WAY nicer than the previous location. I drive up here AT LEAST once a week JUST for BBQ takeout from Auburn, CA and when you try it, you will see why!! Parking: Its tahoe... if you cant handle traffic and finding a parking spot... STAY HOME IN SF and order uber eats!!! Wheelchair accessibility: Its on a hill with uneven road and sidewalk... not the best for wheelchair but doable
Wanted to have some good food. Food portion is really small compared to the amount they are charging. Food quality was nothing to write home about. Even for a vacation destination, the food is really pricey. We were automatically added 20% gratuity even though we were a party of four. On top of it, it is self serve. Please do yourself a favor and choose many other available options. Snarky responses by the owner to Google reviews is also very disappointing.
