The Red Bean - Sylmac

Atmosphere is great, place was busy. I got some kind of advertised special with 2 scoops of chocolate, 1 vanilla, espresso, red currants, cheese cake, and a few decorative pieces of chocolate. The presentation was good, but the toppings were lacking. I added cinnamon, but I could barely taste it except on the first initial bites. The espresso drowned all other flavors, which overall was fine because it had good flavor, BUT the ice cream was just so so and had ice crystals in it. Might just order coffee next time.

The BEST ce cream in Annapolis? This place is simply iconic. He won't see me going to Annapolis without stopping at Red Bean on main Street for ice cream. My personal favorite is if I do a lot of ice cream with a shot of espresso. Called an affogado. It's heavenly. And they can make just about anything with any topping. I had an opportunity to talk to the new owner, Victor. He told me the midshipman have been coming a lot and asked if he could get protein to mix in with the ice cream! Makes sense for those sport teams that need the extra protein. The place is clean as a whistle. Even the bathroom is super clean. The decor is really quite unparalleled by any of the other ice cream stores in town, this place is super comfortable with plush seating, and even some great window tables raised up so you can watch pastors by enjoying the town. This is the best of the best when it comes to ice cream in Annapolis.

Horrible ice cream. You pay $8 to get a singular Oreo in your two scoop ice cream which was advertised as three. I could get this at McDonalds for half the price… in addition, since the Oreo topping was only tasted at the very top, I asked the employee for another Oreo. She was in the middle of cleaning and placed her bare hands inside the Oreo cookie jar and gave it to me without any gloves whatsoever. Extremely unsanitary. There are other better ice cream places in downtown Annapolis.

Wow! This ice cream was so freaking good. Coffee and pastries were amazing as well. Super nice folks there too. I can’t wait to come back. Dietary restrictions: Vegan ice cream options
