I must say I was disappointed burata with a crushed cauliflower base.? yuck also a pasta dish that was so salty it was inedible the spatchcock and Auberginen-Dip were good, but for $65 for me it was overpriced for what we received. although the manager was nice the waitress that served us seemed to be in a bad mood and was quite indifferent. March into merivale had me marching in here on a Tuesday night for the friends with benefits deal. We got a 2 course meal (from more limited menu options) and a glass of wine. I think the wine selection here is far better than its food offering. There were no particular stand outs for me except that I really enjoyed the artichoke puree that accompanied the grilled chorizo. The duck liver pate was underwhelming and the prawns didn't seem that fresh! They were soft in texture. Nice ambience for a dinner date but come for a glass of wine rather than the dining experience.
The roll in Ash St. Cellar’s choripan – Argentinean style chorizo roll with romesco and aioli was also not the freshest tasting and the Boy ending up binning the roll, after eating the chorizo. I accidentally chose the Ash St. Cellar’s baked ricotta, fresh peas, lemon, mint and pinenuts. Now, I’m not the biggest ricotta fan, so I throw out the ricotta,
