Woodman - Swansea

While taking a break in South Wales from Liverpool, we stopped by this restaurant for dinner before heading home. The ambiance was delightful and charming. The food was absolutely delicious! We are still reminiscing about it weeks later. Thank you for the excellent service.

I visited The Woodman with my family of 7 to celebrate my son's 14th birthday on Sunday, September 24th. The pub is in a great location and the staff are friendly with a good selection of drinks at the bar. However, we were booked for 2pm and despite the email confirmation warning that the table could be given away if we were 15 minutes late, we were not seated until close to 2.30pm. The service was slow, likely due to issues in the kitchen. Our drinks orders were quicker going to the bar, but there was a long wait for plates to be cleared and for the initial food order to be taken. The starters were average to poor, with some dishes being cold or hard. Most of our mains were sent back for being cold, with only one dish being kept because my mother-in-law didn't want to cause a fuss. A staff member apologized and adjusted our bill for the issues we faced. Overall, I would rather pay for good food than waste time not eating most of it. Despite enjoying time with my family, we will not be returning to The Woodman.

This pub is quite spacious with a lot of seating and a large car park, although it is shared with visitors to Clyne Gardens (you need to register your car at the bar). The atmosphere is friendly and the bar offers a decent selection of beers, although not all were available during my visit. The food is typical pub fare but served quickly and hot. The restrooms are clean and well-kept. It's a great spot for a casual lunch or a get-together with friends, as the staff is hassle-free.

Visited The Woodman last night with friends, it is always a joyful experience. The management and staff are always so welcoming and accommodating to customers and local community. Had lovely Korean chicken strips, fries olives and more, plus excellent wine. After a period of health problems iI was so lovely to be welcomed back by staff. Well done!
